Working with different techniques allows me to represent my emotions in a particular way. I’d always been very influenced by my surrounding and objects of every day. I am fascinated by old doors as they are witness of the past and by cultural traditions of my homeland: Spain.
My piece titled Tajo, 2008, is a tribute for the 11 young fire brigade who die during the fire in Riba de Saelices (Guadalajara, Spain) in 2005. Alto Tajo Natural Reserve was complete devastated as the family of each victim. Through the disappearance of the image, my artwork shows how our feeling of hope vanished until it shattered in thousand pieces.
The city where I grow up is very important for my practice. In my project Patrimonio Cultural (2011), I bring to the viewer a series of photopolymer and screen print images where the feeling of unfinish is present. I want to use it as a statement for rediscovering the monuments of our city as they are part of our selves. They were part of the exhibition Prueba de Artista, 2011, Facultad de Bellas Artes, Cuenca (Spain), with a series of transfer prints that resemble windows and bricks from the building itself.
